Ravello is a beautiful and ancient village known as “La citta della musica” as it holds annual Wagner (& other classical) concerts in the breathtaking gardens of the Villa Ruffolo. It has inspired the likes of E M Forster, D H Lawrence, Wagner & Gore Vidal to name just a few. It is a good base for visiting Pompei & Herculaneum, Capri & Ischia, Paestum, Sorrento & Naples.
Ravello has been a holiday destination for the “elite” since roman times and continues to attract the glitterati. It is not unusual to see a “celeb” strolling through the main square or enjoying a coffee in one of the many cafes.
